Employee Spotlight is a blog series meant to offer an inside look at our company culture and, most importantly, highlight the talented individuals who help make our company so special. From accountants and software implementation specialists to operations, marketing, and HR professionals, get to know the people behind Chazin.
Today, we are getting to know Linda Manco, one of our talented Controllers. Linda is based out of Virginia and has been with Chazin since 2020. Let's learn more about her:
1. What's your role at Chazin?
I am a Controller at Chazin, providing everything from daily entry of my clients' activities, to creating financial reports for Board Management and preparation for annual audits. My clients range in their size and in their missions, and I truly enjoy working with all of them.
2. What's the most rewarding part about your job?
I have a strong passion for nonprofits, especially those with humanitarian and environmental missions. I am so happy to be able to help my clients fulfill their missions, even if it is behind the scenes. It is nice to be able to contribute in some way.
3. What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I love being outdoors and enjoy hiking and paddle boarding. I have a Chocolate Lab that keeps me out on the trails in my neighborhood. I also love to travel. I am always up for a new adventure!
4. What's your favorite volunteer activity?
While living in Kansas City, I did a lot of civic volunteering. My favorite group was the American Royal, a horse show, rodeo and livestock show. I loved giving school tours and teaching urban children about where their food comes from! My husband and I moved to Northern Virginia a few years ago, and I am looking forward to volunteering for a local group that provides food and snacks to middle and high schoolers.
5. Please share any exciting news or a fun fact about yourself:
Fun Fact: My husband and I both grew up in Kansas City and lived there until just a few years ago. We spent our honeymoon in Washington, DC. Little did we know our daughter would end up living here, and that we would end up moving here some 30 years later!
