Employee Spotlight is a blog series meant to offer an inside look at our company culture and, most importantly, highlight the talented individuals who help make our company special. From accountants and software implementation specialists to operations, marketing, and HR professionals, get to know the people behind Chazin.
Today, we are getting to know Tara, one of our dedicated Controllers. Tara is based out of Georgia and has been with Chazin since 2025. Let’s learn more about her:
1. What’s the most rewarding part of your job?
The ability to merge my love of accounting with a profound sense of purpose. Partnering with my clients allows me to actively contribute to their organizational missions, which is incredibly fulfilling.
Additionally, I enjoy the complexity that nonprofit accounting provides, as often times I deal with unique financial structures, diverse funding sources, and regulatory requirements. This dynamic environment keeps me engaged and constantly learning, making each day an opportunity for personal and professional growth.
2. What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
With four kids, I don’t have much free time! I enjoy shopping trips with my three daughters and watching my son ride dirt bikes. My youngest is involved in competitive dance, which keeps us busy. The competitions are a lot of fun and stressful!
3. What’s your favorite volunteer activity?
I love volunteering at my church. I’m currently serving on the Stewardship Committee and am the leader of my FIT team, which stands for “First Impressions Team.” Our purpose is to provide a welcoming atmosphere for both guests and members. I live in a military community, so we have a lot of visitors from all over the county, whom I enjoy meeting.
4. Any exciting news or a fun fact about yourself?
My 16 year old recently convinced me to go to the gym with her at 4 AM on a regular basis. Waking up at 4 AM is very challenging, but it leads to a sense of accomplishment and boosts my mood for the rest of the day.
